
Tom Petherick has been at the heart of the organic movement throughout his career. Formerly an organic grower with Soil Association certification, Tom has all things organic and sustainable as the focus of his work. He is formally trained in commercial horticulture and uses his thorough knowledge base and experience to write, broadcast and consult on a wide range of matters concerning organic gardening and farming.
Tom attained a national Diploma in Commercial Horticulture from Oaklands College in Hertfordshire. He ran the Productive Gardens at the Lost Gardens of Heligan in Cornwall and went on to run his own organic market garden to Soil Asoociation certification standards. He now runs a consultancy service for organic gardening, as well as writing and broadcasting.
Tom offers a full design, consultancy and gardening service on gardens and land of all acreages. He specialises in the switch to organic cultivation.
Tom's work appears regularly in such publications as Gardens Illustrated, Saga Magazine, Hortus, Organic Gardening Magazine and Country Smallholder. The last two of which he writes monthly columns for. He is also currently writing a fortnightly column for the Saturday Telegraph on how to go organic.
